Nickname(s): The Juggernaut
Age: Claims to be 21, is actually 18
Gender: Female
Occupation: Well-known Mercenary
Birthplace: Lunae
Nation they're currently in: Wandering between Lunae and Solis
Race: Half-Divine Dragon, Half-Human
Appearance//
Virgo Sable (she doesn't have a tail, ignore the image), being half-Manakete (mother's blood) happens to retain only vestiges of her draconic blood, she claims the purple horns on her head are part of a headdress but are actually part of her body. They are a reminder of her mother, since she opted never to use a Dragonstone (to be explained in her history). Her skin color is the typical yellow-green that you would see on such a Manakete. The dragon-like fins by her ears, however, are actually earrings or decorations, which lots of people don't believe. Her hair-color is the same as her father's, blue hair. She is surprisingly well-built for her age, and seems to develop slightly faster than a usual hybrid, though she is still very young in appearance, she seems to appear like a youthful seventeen year old. Due to her upbringing, she doesn't like to be seen as a child, and often gets upset when people think she is as young as she appears. So she lies about her age and says she is older than her real age.
Clothing/Armor: Virgo wears little in the way of armor, the only armor she wears are a pair of ornate, chromed obsidian gauntlets that look very Eastern in design. They are a memento from her parents which she rarely takes off; only taking it off during quiet times or when she is alone. She thinks they are magical, but actually they only just look cool. Virgo wears ankle-high boots and a strangely-fashioned dress. The dress has a very short hem-line which lets her move her legs more easily. Despite her looks she doesn't care if anyone sees what color of underwear she is wearing if anybody catches glimpse of it. Her favourite color is blue, emphasized by pretty much the fact all the clothes she wears is blue in color, with purple accents. Due to her lack of armor, she can move very fast, but cannot take hits as easily as others who wear armor.
Personality//
Virgo is pretty idealistic and naive; it was in part due to the nurturing nature of her peace-loving mother, and the reformist personality of her father, who was once a battle-hardened mercenary who grew tired of fighting. She is very attached to her personal cause, and gets very mad when confronted with the possibility that her dream is 'impossible.' She is quite playful though hardly mischievous, however when the situation calls for it she tries to be serious. Her carefree nature is what makes her a highly sought after client as a mercenary, since she is fearless and does not care too much about impending danger. She believes that the strength her parents gave her allows her to overcome any adversary. As a result, she has adopted quite a black-and-white way of thinking, rarely does she realize or even acknowledge that lot of situations have 'grayness' in them.
However, this leads her to be optimistic about things; she doesn't always want to believe that a person who seems bad is really bad, until she sees evidence that they are actually evil without a reasonable doubt. As a result of this optimistic thinking she can be very emotionally charged about the idea that she is fighting for a worthy cause. She would be willing to die for it and is fearless of death in general, making her a very desirable client for bodyguard and escort missions as well. However this lack of fear of death can make her pretty reckless, so be wary of that. She is hardly what you would call a strategist, she is just concerned about the details of the battle. Her reckless personality matched with her skill with a blade lent her the nickname of 'the Juggernaut.' She can also be impulsive and finds herself attracted to beautiful women which remind her of her mother. It's not sure if Virgo has a complex or not.
Virgo is not very good at diplomatic talks, something she is trying to work on so she can do better when looking for work - she has a tendency to speak her mind and sometimes this leads her to throw tact out of the window.
Likes: Justice, harmony, fighting for the greater good
Dislikes: Racism, 'evil' (in quotes)
Greatest Strength: Her fearlessness, she is not afraid to fight for what she believes in, even going so far as to want to die for it if she thinks her death is worth the sacrifice. At least, she has the skill to match that fearlessness and bravado.
Worst Flaw: Immense recklessness which lead her to get hurt
Hobbies: Training her swordsmanship and dexterity, practicing her talking skills and becoming a more eloquent person
Goals: To see a world where humans, beastmen and Manaketes can co-exist in peace and harmony without wanting to kill each other or take over each other's lands
Quirks: She fidgets with her purple horns a lot. Also, she acts like a twelve-year-old kid about sixty percent of the time.
History//
To talk about Virgo we need to go back to her history. Virgo's parents have some sort of a star-crossed lovers story though they do get together. It just ends in death for the two of them like a tragic love story. Virgo's mother, Andromeda, was a Divine Dragon who was traveling the world away from her home in Calligo to see places. She was an incredibly beautiful woman, treated with utmost respect wherever she went. She was a lover of peace, she wanted to understand the cultures of human beings as they were not allowed to set foot in Calligo. Andromeda learned much from reading books and talking to the kind elderly. Virgo's father, Perseus, was an accomplished mercenary who earned a lot of money defending caravans from the most hardcore of bandits, acting as bodyguard to royalty and rich nobles, and a lot of other high-profile jobs. Perseus took pleasure in helping those people, weak or strong, poor or rich. However, Perseus eventually grew tired of fighting and retired at the age of forty two.
During Perseus' retirement, he became more fond of taking walks around the world. When Perseus caught Andromeda walking along a beach in Sidus, he fell deeply in love with her, and started to follow her in a manner unlike stalking. When Andromeda realized this on the fourth day, she confronted him and asked him - "Why are you following me?" to which Perseus answered, "Because I think I have fallen madly in love with you." Andromeda, shocked by this declaration of love, asked Perseus to introduce himself. Then, he started by saying that he had grown weary of the violence of the world, despite the fact he dedicated his life to protecting the citizenry and using that violence himself. While they were talking to each other, Andromeda was jumped by a group of racist humans who had somehow learned Andromeda was a Divine Dragon, they wanted to take her away, to use her for their evil schemes.
Perseus protected her from harm, though he was injured heavily in the process, he managed to defeat them without killing them. He told her, "See, I wanted to protect people, but yet, in this world, so many people are full of hatred. Sometimes, I am filled with hatred, yet I restrain myself, I have dignity." Andromeda was smitten by Perseus' honesty and willingness to sacrifice himself for someone he had just met. The two of them traveled the world together; and soon people began to realize that the famous Perseus had begun to fraternize with a Manakete, which caused tensions among the citizenry, who frowned upon an interracial-relationship. It didn't help that Andromeda wanted to bear a child with Perseus, the former believed that having a child would consummate their love. Perseus built a home far away from civilization somewhere in Lunae on his own for the two of them to stay in, where they would be safe from humanity's judgment.
Eventually they did have a child, who they named Virgo. They lived remotely, but Perseus often made trips to the city to get food and other such things for the family; while Andromeda began to teach Virgo from a young age about the world from her experiences. Virgo, who was still a baby at the time, had already absorbed these values of loving peace. Perseus meanwhile, spent time with Virgo to help her get accustomed to the harsh realities of life, teaching her how to defend herself when Virgo was at an age suitable for her to wield a blade. At some point, when Virgo was around ten years old, she asked about the 'Dragonstone.' Andromeda shook her head. She believed that it was not a good idea to tap into the blood of a Manakete for use of violence. As much as possible, avoid that rough path. Virgo acknowledged this and kept her Dragonstone in a locked box, and then had Perseus destroy the key, so no one would be able to use it. Perseus encouraged Virgo to use only her own body without transforming, if she had to use force to protect somebody. And only to use force to protect others, or to fight for a good cause she believed in.
Perseus and Andromeda both taught Virgo the values of reform, harmony, co-existence, peace. However, the happy family life didn't last long. Citizens from a nearby town had finally discovered Perseus' home, and they decided to attack it, they did not want such Hybrid spawn to run around amok. However, Virgo was already aware of this racism, and was urged by Perseus and Andromeda to run away. "But father, mother, what about you?"
"Forget about us. Just remember what I told you, my dearest child," Perseus said. "We will die here as we lived, peacefully and enjoying our days." he said as he took up his blunted blade to protect Andromeda, who urged Virgo to run. Before Virgo ran away, Andromeda gave her the fin earrings, and Perseus gave her the obsidian gauntlets she wears to this very day. Perseus and Andromeda never survived that day, being overwhelmed by a lynch mob. Virgo watched her old house go up in flames. She couldn't stop the tears, but vowed to make a name for herself and to fight for peace, and to fight for a world where such blatant racism would never happen.
But she needed work first. With the training from Perseus her father, she took up the mercenary life and began to build up a reputation as the horned Juggernaut who instilled terror in bandits for her fearless, beast-like presence on the battlefield. Though there are those who see the childlike innocence in her eyes. How could such a child be such a war-like beast...?
