Name: Bellona of Lunae
Nickname(s): Princess Bellona, War Goddess
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Occupation: Fallen Princess, aspiring Warlord
Birthplace: Noctus, Lunae
Nation they're currently in: Lunae
Race: Human
Appearance//
So, that stereotypical image of a princess being beautiful but delicate? Not in the least. Bellona looks much more at home commanding soldiers than attending royal banquets. Sure, she has a beauty and figure that most of the realm would die for, but there's a deadly strength behind it, backed by an imposing bearing and frightening smile. Even her hair, light blue and knee-length, serves to add to her sheer presence, and her icy blue eyes are often locked in a cold, cruel gaze.
Clothing/Armor: She has no fondness for royal finery or fancy clothes, preferring to wear the garb of a military commander. It's white in color, with the top and legs left open for reasons of breathability. Yeah. All she's missing is the armor, which she usually forsakes for better mobility.
Personality//
If someone told Bellona that princesses were supposed to be innocent, delicate, shy, and kind to everyone no matter what, she would laugh in their face. She also might be quick to remind them that she comes from a line of men and women who were just as much warriors as rulers if they didn’t immediately change their tune. If that still didn't work, she'd probably knock them down and step on them. Bellona is a fighter at heart: aggressive, spirited, and more ready for the possibility of a surprise battle than a diplomatic meeting. Which isn't to say she's not aware that she's of royalty. In fact, she's quite prone to reminding people that she outranks them. She just believes in rule by strength, without the niceties Weakness does have its place in the world (beneath her), but it does not belong in power over anything. To her, respect is earned, not given. This includes respect for the leaders of other nations, and even her own family. She has fully supported Lunae's imperialism in the past, and would see it continue. She has no love for the current leader though, and believes him to be a brat who stumbled into the power he currently holds.
Of course, like any good princess, she still enjoys the finer things in life. Wine, music, literature, drama, and of course, fencing. What Lord does not appreciate taking a rapier in hand? Well, actually, she prefers saber. But never mind that.
What she wants most is a war that will completely reshape the known world. Solis and Lunae? Human and Beastkin? None of that matters. She just wants to tear about the old foundations and let the world rebuild itself, where strength is power, and those undeserving of respect can be crushed underfoot. Once, it was just an idle dream, one she knew was beyond her reach. With the current leadership of Lunae and her own estrangement though, she now fully intends to make good on that dream.
Likes: Fine arts, battlefields, being on top, breaking down stubbornness
Dislikes: Weakness, worthlessness, diplomacy, dresses
Greatest Strength: Indomitable spirit
Worst Flaw: Extreme pride
Hobbies: Hobbies? Hah. What a waste of time (actually, she enjoys reading, fencing, and wine tasting)
Goals: To instigate and lead a conflict that will reshape the world. Also to bring down and humiliate the current emperor of Lunae.
Quirks: Acts domineering towards just about anyone. Superiors included.
History//
For a princess of Lunae, it should have been a cozy life. Get treated like the royalty she was, look pretty, attend parties, live a life protected from the world, and only have to worry about diplomatic meetings and dealing with entitled nobles. But something went wrong with Bellona, and that was Bellona herself. Never one to be sheltered, Bellona did her own thing from an early age, and her own thing usually involved picking fights and trying to learn how to do it better. It probably didn't help that her father, the at the time Emperor of Lunae, promoted the warlike image of the Lunae Empire and educated Bellona with that image in mind. She was never meant to inherit the throne - actually, she was fifth in line for the throne and her older brothers showed equal, if not greater promise, but she was still taught to lead. If not from the throne, then from the front lines.
And so, she would go on to become an accomplished leader. While there had yet to be a war so great as the one with Solis in times past, Bellona made a name for herself in conquests of the small island nations beyond Lunae's borders. Respected by her subordinates, feared by her enemies (and sometimes her subordinates), she came to be known among both as a war goddess. Her ability developed over time - early campaigns would actually nearly fail if not for the actions of her soldiers, but it was her aggressive attitude and unbreakable fighting spirit that earned her the name.
But things would not always go her way. Following the end of one of these campaigns, Bellona returned to the royal palace to find it in chaos. She was able to learn of the situation from some of the surviving guards: an assassin (a raven beastkin, from the description given) was on the loose, and several members of the royal family were already dead, including her father and older brothers. Bellona went into battle, intending to turn the tide, but was quickly overwhelmed and became the next victim of the upheaval that would put the now current Emperor in power.
Only, Bellona survived.
Hidden and carried away by her soldiers, the war goddess hovered between life and death for several days before recovering. By that time, the political landscape of Lunae had already changed dramatically. And with it changed Bellona's opinion of the empire. Her father, in his advanced age, was a victim. But her brothers, those ahead of her in line of the throne, were too weak to have ruled. And the new Emperor was a worthless brat who stumbled into power he didn't deserve and wielded it like he was entitled to it. She was now the rightful heir to Lunae's throne, but it was currently denied to her. And so, things had to change. That was where it began between her and her remaining subordinates: the plans for a world revolution.
