Name: Gwyn
Nickname(s): N/A
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Occupation: Lord - Associated with the royal family of Calligo
Birthplace: Outskirts of Lunae
Nation they're currently in: Calligo Wilds
Race: Rabbit Beastkin
Appearance//
Gwyn is a young, white haired boy with long, large white rabbit ears, that droop almost beyond his waist. His hair is in a bob-cut, with bangs that go over his forehead. His eyes are wide, as well as being a deep shade of maroon. He has the features of a younger teenager, looking extraordinarily youthful for his age, much to his frustration. He has a nose that's on the cuter side. He has thin, arching eyebrows. The expressions he wears the most frequently are cold ones of indifference. He will rarely ever crack a smile unless one of his enemies is about to die, and doesn't often let his face betray his emotions. His eye can twitch whenever suspicious of someone's intentions, or when he's blatantly aggravated.
His stature is smaller than most boys his age, but despite that, he is quite the fearsome foe. He has pale skin, but has strong, able legs and muscles from training very often. His athletic skills rely on speed more than strength, and his skill is almost unparalleled. He's by no means a weightlifter, and but is definitely able to dodge enemy attacks very quickly and skillfully. His skin is somewhat marred by scars and whatnot, most of which are on his back, shoulders and arms. His legs are left untouched, and fortunately have never been injured severely. No matter what the situation, he usually maintains a straight, proper posture unless severely injured. He has a white rabbit's tail. His fingers and hands are elegant and slender.
Clothing/Armor: Gwyn doesn't wear much armor. He has chest plates, plates on his back, but nothing really on his legs or arms. He's mostly seen wearing shorts, a waistcoat and a dress shirt. For the colder seasons, he wears thicker jackets and clothing. Needless to say, he actually hates the winter. He actually likes to pair black or brown with white, and doesn't really like any especially bright or vibrant colors. Neon colors made him want to cringe, especially. He does carry around a rather large pocket watch with him, though, usually stowed away in one of his many pockets.
Personality//
Gwyn is a cold young male with a vicious heart. He only talks when he sees fit, which is often. Yet, he has a stoic way of guarding himself. He rarely will ever trust humankind. He's exceedingly intellectual and clever for his age, holding an amount of cunning that others might never get in their lifetime. His tactics are brutal and ruthless, but he doesn't usually harm innocents. He has seen many hardships, and waded through disaster after disaster. He addresses himself as a survivor, and does not take no for an answer. He is a prompt, able debater who brings up points to support his argument in a graceful manner. He does not care for humankind. He works hard to support his nation, and can tend to go even days without sleep. He works himself to the bone.
He is surprisingly kind to those he cares for. Earning his trust is difficult to do. Many call him the untouchable king, but when he witnesses kindness, he takes notice. He cares a great amount for his people, and will be loyal to them until the end. The people of his nation are his top priority, and that is why he keeps himself alive and well. When he wants something done, he sees it through thoroughly. He has a calm head on his shoulders, and will rarely ever raise his voice when not necessary. Most of his derailments are done skillfully and quietly. His insults are sharp and merciless. He sees no reason to care about the feelings of his enemies.
With all of his positive traits, come his flaws. He's sneaky, paranoid, and conceited. He will kick someone when they're down, if he believes that they deserve it. He doesn't follow a strict code of honor, and plays cheap and dirty to get what he wants. He doesn't really care about who he mows down if it means obtaining something that he wants, as long as he sees them as an enemy. He is rather paranoid about most other high-ranking officials around him. He has had others try to usurp him from his position previously. Gwyn is also rather arrogant, believing himself to be mostly superior, and that he should be catered to on all accounts.
Gwyn is not good at being charismatic and often remains the cool-headed figure. He leaves the matters that require the most adept social interaction to his advisers, but he does like to be involved in any and all negotiations. He's very firm in his policies, legally, and follows them. Yet, he can exploit loopholes and be very sneaky and sly about any foreign interactions. This can tend to make other political figures wary of him. Making others wary of him is something he thoroughly believes is his best way of getting power. While not the warmest person around anyone, but those who attempt to dig passed his outer personality tend to become valued friends. He acknowledges those who truly care about him, and will always appreciate their concern.
Likes: Tea time, daytime, carrots, carrot stew, playing cards, gambling, summertime
Dislikes: Nighttime, nightmares, thunderstorms, traitors, wintertime
Greatest Strength: Incredibly intellectual and with a sharp wit, is how Gwyn is mostly described. He's a very fast learner who can adapt to the conditions around him quickly. He's incredibly good at giving speeches and using his words to get what he wants. His utter devotion to the people of his nation also helps him gain support.
Worst Flaw: Gwyn's greatest flaw is perhaps his arrogance, or his paranoia. He can tend to thoroughly underestimate his opponents, which has lead to him being bested in the past. This flaw is one that could possible lead to his end in the future. His paranoia also ties for his worst flaw. Due to the fact that he fears betrayal and believes himself to be so powerful, he doesn't have many friends and believes himself to be above negotiation, causing others to need to be sent to negotiate for him secretly.
Hobbies: Gwyn's abundance of duties due to being so closely affiliated with the royals usually prevents him from having an abundance of free time. He's usually incredibly busy. But in what little spare time he does have, he's gambling or relaxing in the royal gardens. Although he's not addicted to gambling, he's fairly good at keeping a poker face. He thoroughly enjoys lazing about when it's sunny out. The fresh aroma of the flowers is pleasant.
Goals: Gwyn's goals are simple. He only wishes to protect the people of Calligo. He doesn't want to grab for more power than he already has, so he simply searched for ways of bettering the lives of everyone in the nation. He would definitely be ready to defend against Lunae, and has assisted in the creation and training of a successful army.
Quirks: Gwyn tends to place his hands on his hips a lot, especially when irritated. He also hates not keeping a tidy schedule.
History//
Gwyn was born a slave, or pet, to a human 'owner'. His mother, originally hailing from a nation with diverse species of Beastkin, had never attempted escape, and served as a plaything for their owner. Her mistreatment would inspire a deeply-rooted hatred of humans for years to come. Gwyn grew up an abused and rebellious child. He detested the treatment his mother went under, and she was the only one who made him cling onto his sanity. Her mellow attitude and her ability to teach him moral lessons pulled him through and prevented him from succumbing to despair. She told him of her previous lifestyle, not as a slave, but a princess of a wealthy nation. He grew up in a mansion, surrounded by guards. His mother was allowed inside, but the owner didn't take a shine to Gwyn, mostly due to his refusal to listen to orders. Gwyn would never directly tolerate the "master" of the house, and spent time driving him crazy.
Still, Gwyn needed to be used for something, so the owner had him trained in the art of the sword. He'd be surrounded by guards, and eventually serve as one of them. There would be absolutely no way out of it. He was depraved of freedom and stuck here. The thought alone made him almost want to end his own life, then and there. He despised this almost more than the master of the house. It was a very hostile environment, but Gwyn learned to hold his tongue when necessary, a much as he hated it. At the age of seven, there was a a siege upon the mansion by a group of bandits. The mansion was set aflame. His mother was unfortunately lost during the attack, but the owner was killed. Gwyn refused to speak for weeks, and remained a quiet, abet surviving and observant young boy.
He was taken in by the bandits, who were later revealed to be a group sent by nobles, to kill his old master over a dispute. He was taken in and accepted there, back in the nation of Calligo. A new government had taken over, but they were kind and welcomed him with open arms. Many viewed him as a very easily target to take advantage of in the beginning. He expected to be attacked. So, he began to be properly educated at his own request, but began suffering from flashbacks to his time as a slave. Many times he would wake up with nightmares. Many times he'd stay up all night, not wanting to face the night terrors that awaited him. Four years passed. He refused to even set eyes on a blade for that span of years. During this time, he excelled at making himself independent in any way possible. After that amount of time, his will to never use a blade again weakened, and he realized as an asset to the nation, he'd need to be able to fight. He was trained promptly and steadily, but he was a fast learner.
During that time, he took many measures to prevent himself from being used or abused again, but also kept in mind that he'd need to protect the people of the nation. He took down any traitors within his midst who would plot against the royals. He vanquished many opponents during that time. Yet, those who remained loyal to him and to the rulers would have nothing to be worried about. Thus, his reign as a prominent leader strengthened. During the last couple of years, he toured the country, bettering the lives of farmers. This gained him an even more favorable reputation among the subjects of the nation, who were mostly surprised at how young he actually was. Gwyn would nevver let his youth get in the way of his work. Recently, he just returned to the castle. Yet, he knows of the tension springing up between the nations around him, and has become warier, urging the current rulers to take more precautions.
